Bath & Body Works Collection

I think it has hit obsession level...
Hey everyone!

Because of my lovely boyfriend, I have developed a borderline obsessive love with Bath and Body Works, especially their candles! I decided to do a little collection post for you all to show my favourite products to you!

Antibacterial Gels L-R: Heirloom Cranberry, Farmstand Apple, Heirloom Pear, Island Margarita, Farmstand Apple
I love having these little gels in my bag, especially when I'm running to and from class.  They're great for feeling less grimy in lecture halls, and great for disinfecting your hands before grabbing a quick lunch before running off to your next class.  I love the Farmstand Apple one so much that I have it twice! (And also in candle form!)

3 Wick Candles L-R: Watermelon Lemonade, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, Blackberry Spice, Farmstand Apple, Autumn, Pumpkin Caramel Latte, Frosted Cupcake
Watermelon Lemonade was the first ever Bath and Body Works product I had and I love it!  It's a great summer fragrance, I hope they bring it back.  Blackberry Spice and Farmstand Apple are my favourites right now, they are very crisp and fantastic for cool fall days and evenings.  The sweeter, more cloying scents like Pumpkin Caramel Latte and Frosted Cupcake are going to be my comforting winter scents.

Mason Jar Candles: Heirloom Pear x2, Blackberry Spice
Mini Candles: Leaves, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin
Mini Candle Holder: $12
As you can probably tell, I really like Heirloom Pear and Blackberry Spice.  The Mason Jar candles were on offer, 2 for $18.  The mini candles I really like because they are a great way to test of candles to see if you like them without shelling out a ton of money.  They are usually on offer, either 3 for $10 or 2 for $6 when I go.  I actually have two of the Leaves scent, and I've used up various others.  I always clean out the glass jars and use them for other things.  Currently I have one with thumbtacks on my desk, and another with my earplugs so that I can sleep in my bedside drawer.

Lotion and Fragrance: Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Lotion, Amber Blush Fragrance Mist, Amber BlushBody  Lotion
These are all fairly new, delivered in a care package courtesy of Robbie, my boyfriend.  However, so far I adore them! The Amber blush is quite possibly going to become my Fall/Winter fragrance as my usual perfume is very light and more suited to Spring/Summer.

Shower Gels: White Citrus, Pink Chiffon, Amber Blush, Carried Away
These gels are great.  I really like White Citrus as a wake-me-up in the mornings.  And no surprises here, but Anber Blush is in there too! I don't like using bar soap, and I love that the mini shower gels are 3 for $12, making them nice and affordable.  I also tend to get bored of fragrances easily, so with their small size they last just the right amount of time.

What about you guys? Do you have any big collections? Let me know your favourite shops or products in the comments! <3

Monday Reflection

I have no idea what is spawning this post.  Maybe a combination of procrastination and boredom.  But I was out today with my boyfriend and I got all nostalgic and stuff and decided to blog about it.

So much has changed for me, and it feels like it happened in no time at all.  This time last year, I was in a horrible place.  I was in love with someone who was wrong for me and I clung to that relationship because I was afraid of being lonely.  I was friends with people who didn't love me, didn't even care about me or my feelings, and I clung to that because I was afarid of being alone.  And let's not even talk about my relationship with myself.

Over the next few months, I started to lose my grip on life.  I lost myself trying to hide from all the bad things around me, instead of just cutting out the toxicity,  I don't like to think about that time because I can feel echoes of how I felt then and I am afraid of it.  It is a big, black hole in my past and I am terrified of falling back into it.

I'm not saying this to make you feel sympathetic to me, I don't want you to feel bad for me in any way.  But I do want you to know that it does get better, as cliche as it may sound.  Things do slowly get better.  I started by breaking up with the boy who made me so happy and yet simultaneously so miserable.  And that was rough.  But eventually things started to get better.  And even though we tried to stay friends, I learned to not be sad when that failed.  It was hard and I still feel sad about it sometimes, but more time goes by between the days when I think about him.

I started to drift away from the people who didn't care about me too.  I didn't cut out everyone, and only a few did I cut outcompletely, but I decided to be with people who loved me as I was, as weird as I may be.  And that was hard.  But I did it.  I made it through.

And here I am now.  Even though things can still be hard, the bad days are getting further and further apart.  I am not happy every second but I am happier than I was.  I can deal with feeling sad too, I am not paralyzed by it as I was before.  I am driven by my passions, not by my feelings (or lack thereof).

So please know things get better.  They have for me.  Today I was driving through the valley, looking at all of the trees in their flaming fall colours.  I drove past the house I grew up in and the neighbors I used to know and I felt a stab of sadness and nostalgia in my heart, but I remembered how happy I was back then and I know that I want to be that happy again.

5 Beauty Must-Haves: Autumn

With the changing of the seasons, I find my makeup routine changes accordingly.  Here are my 5 beauty must-haves for fall.

1) Brown Eyeliner- Autumn for me is a seasons of neutrals, especially brown and gold tones.  I'm not much of a black eyeliner girl, but I do enjoy experimenting with colour.  In the fall though, I bring out the brown and wear it nearly every day.  Currently I use Annabelle Smoothliner in Brownie, it's a fantastic shade.

2) Neutral Pallette- As I said, I live for neutrals in fall.  In my pallette I like to use both matte and shimmery shades, depending on my mood and the weather.  I always layer a light shade on my lid with a slightly darker colour through the socket, and if I'm going out I'll put a very dark brown in just the outer corner of my eye.  I am currently using the Covergirl Shimmering Sands 110 trio.

3) Light Foundation- A light coverage foundation for me gives me a fresh-skin look without being too heavy.  I never want to look like I have makeup caked on my face, especially in autumn when I tend to go for simple, clean looks.  My favourites at the moment are the GOSH Natural Touch foundation and the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse, both of which I buff into my skin at application with a Real Techniques Expert Face brush.  With a layer of light powder buffed in, your skin looks natural but redness and blemishes are toned down, making you look fresh-faced instead of completely made up.

4) Dark Blush- In the spring and summer, I have natural colour in my cheeks, but in Autumn I tend to be paler and from time to time washed out.  I use a darker blush in autumn and winter to give a healthy flush.  Applied on just the apples of my cheecks and blended upwards slightly, it gives a natural look, aided by the fact that I tend to use shades without shimmer in the Autumn months.  Right now my favourite is the Maybelline Fit Me blush in Deep Rose.

5) Berry Lipstick- I have a fabulous deep purple lipstick and I wear it throughout the autumn season.  It's a little more unexpected than red and provides a pop of colour.  In spring and summer I play up the eyes more, but in fall and winter I definitely make my lip the statement portion of my makeup.  Currently I use the Maybelline Colour Sensational lipcolour in 410 Blissful Berry.

So there are my 5 must-have for fall! What are yours? Leave a comment below with the products you can't live without in the autumn months!

La Senza Haul

This is far from my usual haul but, that being said, it was far from my usual shopping trip. A few of my bras had reached the end of their wearable lives and so it was past time to replace them.

La Senza was having a huge sale, buy one bra get one half off.  Seeing as I needed a few I thought this was a great deal to take advantage of with my limited budget.

This first bra was super cheap.  It's simple white with lace overlay and is amazing to wear.  It's super comfortable and looks nice under clothes (no weird bumps).

This second bra was a little bit more expensive but hardly budget breaking.  It comes down further than any other bra I've owned and prevents those weird bra rolls I tend to get (it isn't a weight thing, it's a bra thing).  It won't suit most t-shirts but it is amazing in fit regardless.

And finally, there was a 7 for $28 sale on underwear so I picked the least string-like ones and bought a few.

I had never shopped at La Senza before and I can guarantee that I will start to.  It isn't too expensive, I love how they label drawers with the sizes which makes it so easy to find your size, and I think what they are selling is of good quality.

What are your favourite new stores that you've discovered? xoxo Laura
